Pairings for
the state tournament in both boys and girls soccer have been released by the
IHSAA. On the boys’ side, the draw did few favors for the four Hoosier
heartland teams entered in the fray. At Tipton, Tri-Central will face Western
in the first round of the four team event. Taylor and Tipton play the other
match. Rossville faces the unenviable task of facing Lafayette Jefferson in the
opening round at Lafayette. Central catholic faces Frankfort to open play.
Finally, Carroll drew Logansport in the first round of that event.
The girls’
sectionals feature much larger fields. Most of the sectionals are eight team
affairs. At Lafayette, Rossville will see Harrison in the opening round and
then face the winner of the Central catholic versus Twin Lakes contest. Meanwhile,
Tri-Central faces Tipton in the first round at Westfield.
